I listen to podcasts basically all day, every day. I never miss an episode of Morbid, loving the banter between hosts Alaina and Ash. So True with Caleb Hearon is guaranteed to make me laugh out loud at least five times an episode. But being permanently caught up presents a problem. I can't help but get the blues when there isn't a new episode of my favorite show.
If you're in a similar situation, Spotify's new update to Prompted Playlists can help get you out of a rut by using AI to find and curate a lineup of podcast episodes based on what you tell the app you want to hear.
How it works
Starting today, Spotify Premium subscribers in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Sweden can use the in-app AI to find podcasts tailored to their taste based on a single prompt.
For instance, you can type something like "build me a playlist with more shows like Maintenance Phase" to receive podcast recommendations that center on wellness myths and health trends. From there, Spotify's AI will build a playlist based on your listening preferences.
To get started, open the Spotify app, tap Create listed at the bottom right corner of the app, then select Prompted Playlists. From there, you can type out what you'd like to see in your playlists in as much or as little detail as you want.

SpotifyMore AI in the Spotify app
This feature is an expansion of Prompted Playlists for music, which began rolling out in beta to Premium subscribers earlier this year. This new update is just the latest in a row of AI-powered features coming to the streaming platform.
At SXSW in mid-March, Spotify Co-CEO Gustav Söderström announced the app's new feature that lets you use AI to shape your own Taste Profile, giving you the power to personalize what the app recommends for you.
Spotify also announced the launch of its SongDNA feature in late March, letting you see every person involved in making a song from start to finish.
