PlayStation has announced that cloud streaming is officially rolling out to the PlayStation Portal, after a beta test period that started last year. Starting later today (November 5th) at 6PM PT / 9PM ET, PlayStation Premium Plus members will be able to stream select titles from their own library without the need to connect to their PS5 console. The device also has a newly updated menu, with three tabs to swipe through for Remote Play from your PS5, cloud streaming, or search.
Here’s some of what you can play:
At launch, thousands of PS5 games support Cloud Streaming, including blockbusters such as Astro Bot, Borderlands 4, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Fortnite, Ghost of Yōtei, Grand Theft Auto V, and Resident Evil 4.
In addition, hundreds of compatible games from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Classics Catalog, including Cyberpunk 2077, God of War Ragnarök, Hogwarts Legacy, Sword of the Sea and The Last of Us Part II Remastered are also streamable directly from the cloud.
There’s a list of over 2000 games that will be available for cloud streaming at launch.
PlayStation’s beta test of PS Portal cloud streaming last year was also only available to PS Plus Premium subscribers. In addition to cloud streaming, the PS Portal is getting other handy updates, including support for 3D audio, access to accessibility options and in-game stores, the ability to accept invites and join multiplayer games directly, a new passcode feature, and more.
